           The Ministry of the Interior and Local councils is the supervisory organ in charge of the administrative organization of the state at the local level. It is responsible for bringing the administration and the people as close as possible. It is its duty to manage the various administrative divisions of the country especially the seven provinces.

      It is also its duty to ensure civil security in the country. The Ministry of the Interior equally grants authorization to the various Associations and political parties wishing to operate in Equatorial Guinea. It is in this regard that the Ministry of the Interior and Local Councils is the main negotiator in debates between the Government and the political parties
