ELIMINATIONS OF THE 2004 AFRICA  NATIONS CUP

THE NATIONAL NZALANG LOST DIFFICUTLY AT HOME AGAINST THEIR MOROCCAN COUNTERPART

The Minister of State, Excellency Lucas Nguema EsonoThe National football Selection of Equatorial Guinea “Nzalang National” has lost difficultly at the “Freedom Stadium” of Bata Sunday evening, the 6th of June faced to its Moroccan Counterpart, “The Atlas Lions” by one goal to nothing, during a match counting for the last eliminatory tours of the Africa Nations Cup built for Tunisia in 2004.

Despite the good Organisation and a good discipline put on by the players of Nzalang which they developed during the First half, excellent and technical football, luck did not smile on them, above all in the second half which was characterise by an aggressive play, a result for victory desire for the two teams, and saw the opening of score by the Moroccan team and the unfortunate expulsion of the centre back and captain of the Nzalang National following the awarding of a red card. The match ended on a score of one goal to nil in favour of the Atlas Lions.

In the meantime of this match, the Gabonese and its Sierra Leone counterpart were confronting the same day at the Omnisports Stadium of Libreville. This match ended by a victory of the Gabonese Selection, by two goals to nil.

With these results, the classification remains as follows:

At the end of these matches, we note for the account of this group, the qualification of Morocco and Leone Sierra for the final phase of the Africa Nations Cup.

NZALANG : A NATIONAL PRIDE

Despite the fact that luck did not smile on them, the “National Nzalang” had shown to its public that they can henceforth play quality football, which permitted them to defeat at home the 8th of June, the Gabonese Selection. Therefore ending the former egoism and individuality that made them the defeated prey, fruit of indiscipline and lack of motivation that reigned within the team. The National Nzalang were therefore compensated by their efforts grace to the support of all : the Government in general, the Minister of supervision in particular, Lucas Nguema Esono Mbang for which the victory achieved by the National Selection has to procure for each citizen the joy and satisfaction, so as to defend the colours of the National Flag.
